Many people that come into my office have spent years being the one that holds things together. 

They care deeply about their responsibilities and the people around them. Over time, that level of responsibility can start to feel exhausting.

I’m Sana Patel, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor licensed in California. I’ve always been a careful observer of people and the patterns that shape how we think, respond, and relate to one another. That curiosity eventually became the foundation of my work as a therapist.

My Approach

My approach combines EMDR with mind–body work to help clients understand the deeper patterns behind burnout, over-responsibility, and feeling stuck in the same cycles. I’m especially interested in how family history, cultural values, and generational experiences shape the way we navigate responsibility, productivity, and self-trust.

The goal is lasting change — helping you feel more present, more confident in your decisions, and clearer about what comes next.

  • Many of the people I work with are capable, responsible adults who are managing their work, relationships, and daily responsibilities. From the outside, things may appear stable.

    At the same time, they may feel stuck in the same patterns, chronically exhausted, or unsure how to move forward in certain areas of life.

    Therapy isn’t only for moments of crisis. It can also be a space to better understand the patterns shaping your experiences and develop the clarity and confidence needed to respond differently.

  • My work integrates EMDR and mind–body approaches with a focus on understanding the deeper patterns that shape how we respond to stress, responsibility, and relationships. Therapy with me is collaborative and individualized — we take time to understand your history, experiment with strategies that fit you, and build changes that feel sustainable.

    I am also trained to administer the Multidimensional Inventory of Dissociation (MID), a structured assessment used to evaluate dissociative symptoms when appropriate.

  • Yes. Sessions are currently offered virtually for clients located in California. Many clients appreciate the flexibility and consistency that virtual therapy allows.

  • I offer private-pay therapy and do not bill insurance. This allows us to focus on your care without insurance restrictions on diagnosis, treatment length, or session structure.
